Job Description:

Electrical Manufacturing Engineer

Salary: $95,000 - 115,000/year

4 day work week!

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Manufacturing processes to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and ensuring the efficient production of PCBs, focusing on improving manufacturing processes, yield, and product quality. This position involves working closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure that PCB manufacturing processes meet the required standards of performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes for PCB assembly, including soldering (wave, hand, and reflow), component placement, and final testing.
  • Identify and implement new manufacturing techniques to enhance process efficiency and reduce production costs.
  • Develop and optimize PCB assembly workflows, ensuring high throughput and minimal waste.
  • Implement best practices for PCB fabrication, focusing on quality, reliability, and compliance with industry standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, etc.).
  • Analyze production data and identify areas for process improvement to reduce cycle times, increase yields, and improve overall product quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to PCB manufacturing processes, such as soldering defects, misalignment, and electrical failures.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify root causes of failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and maintain process control systems and documentation to monitor the quality of PCB manufacturing.
  • Conduct regular process audits to ensure that production meets quality standards and complies with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Lead efforts in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) to reduce defects and improve production efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications or coursework in PCB design, manufacturing, or quality control (e.g., IPC certifications, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) are a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical manufacturing engineering, with a focus on PCB fabrication, assembly, and process optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB manufacturing techniques, including soldering, component placement, and PCB testing.
  • Experience with electrical testing and inspection (e.g., AOI, X-ray inspection, flying probe testing).
  • Knowledge of industry standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, etc.) and the ability to apply them to manufacturing processes.
