Job Description: Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Data Architect

Location: Remote or Hybrid (up to 2 days every pay cycle, Jersey City, NJ)

Employment Type: 1099, 12 to 24 Months

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, typically 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Data Architect

to lead the development, maintenance, and management of a web-based Data Catalog that supports enterprise asset lifecycle management. The primary responsibility will be to architect and oversee a robust data platform that ensures asset data integrity, accessibility, and standardization in support of IBM Maximo deployment and enterprise asset lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead developer and administrator for the web-based Data Catalog platform.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including system architecture, APIs, UI/UX designs, and database models.
  • Manage both development and production environments, ensuring reliability and security.
  • Lead system testing phases: unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • Enforce strict controls over user access, data security, version control, backups, and change logging.
  • Ensure all master and reference asset data adheres to established organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and implement updates, system enhancements, and integration with other platforms.
  • Monitor and report on system performance, usage metrics, and access logs.
  • Oversee data synchronization between the Data Catalog and relevant enterprise systems.
  • Participate in the asset data change request process to evaluate and implement approved data updates.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of recent experience in database administration and software development in support of enterprise-scale data systems.
  • Experience integrating data catalogs with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or equivalent asset management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.
  • Experience managing structured data in web-based environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing or deploying web-based data catalogs (custom or commercial).
  • Familiarity with MXLoader.
  • Ability to implement row-level security in Power BI and an understanding of application security models.
  • Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis.
  • Experience managing data versioning, audit logging, and user permission controls in compliance with enterprise IT standards.

Benefits

The fee for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

1099 Fee Range: $156,000 - $280,800 annually (based on $75–$135 hourly, assuming 2080 hours/year).
