Senior Systems Engineer

Our Cybersecurity Infrastructure (CI) TTO is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) initiative which defends our nation’s most critical unclassified and classified networks. This is for a position on the Collection team. The SE will work with software development and systems engineering teams to develop cloud-based solutions in line with customer mission needs. The SE will work with multi-disciplined technical teams to develop requirements, plan deployments, and manage customer needs.

Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. Responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288:

  • Technical Process Area - Stakeholder Requirements Definition, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal;
  • Project Process Area - Project Planning, Project Assessment and Control, Decision Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management, Information Management, and Measurement;
  • Enterprise (Organizational Project-Enabling) Process Area - Project Portfolio Management, Infrastructure Management, Lifecycle Model Management, Human Resource Management, and Quality Management;
  • Agreement Process Area - Acquisition and Supply.

**This position requires PRIVAC. Candidate must have a current (within 7 years) poly and/or currently possess the minimum level of PRIVAC required for this role (NSYS). When submitting candidates, please confirm their poly/PRIVAC status. Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).

Required Qualifications

  • TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus fifteen (15) years of systems engineering experience.
  • OR A High School Diploma or GED plus nineteen (19) years of general systems engineering experience (any Process Area).
  • OR A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience.
  • OR A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong customer outreach and product marketing skills for interfacing with mission and capabilities partners.
  • Experience with data sharing policies and authorizations, both internal to customer and external partnerships.
  • Experience with data thread engineering, to include multi-domain (TS, S, U) threading.
  • Experience with developing system architecture and design planning documentation.
  • Experience with capturing and documenting artifacts with Jira and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Service provider offerings, specifically AWS and Azure.
  • Knowledge of general cloud computing and big data analysis.
