Senior Electronic Security Technologist

Job Purpose:
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Electronic Security Technologist to support our Corporate Security initiatives. This role involves leading technical assessments, reviewing system designs, and overseeing implementation of electronic and physical security systems—including video surveillance, access control, and perimeter security. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience, industry certifications, and a collaborative mindset to ensure all systems meet compliance and security standards across a range of high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate security system designs to ensure alignment with internal standards, particularly regarding surveillance and access control.
- Analyze engineering plans, technical specifications, and design documents to integrate advanced security technologies.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments on new construction and renovation sites to identify potential security risks.
- Oversee system installations, functional testing, and system performance validations.
- Perform field inspections to evaluate the effectiveness and proper integration of installed security systems.
- Identify and address potential threats through thorough risk assessments and provide actionable mitigation recommendations.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure all security requirements are met during design and construction phases.
- Stay current on certifications such as PSP, CPP, and CPTED, and apply industry-recognized best practices in all phases of project delivery.
- Ensure all implemented systems are compliant with national and corporate security codes, policies, and regulations.
- Prepare detailed documentation and communicate findings clearly to project managers and leadership teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in designing, evaluating, and implementing physical and electronic security systems.
- Professional certifications such as PSP (Physical Security Professional) or CPP (Certified Protection Professional) from ASIS International.
- CPTED certification (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) from NICP.
- In-depth knowledge of surveillance system technologies (e.g., Axis, Avigilon, Bosch).
- Experience with video management platforms such as Genetec, Milestone, or Avigilon.
- Proficiency with physical access control solutions (e.g., Lenel/S2, Software House, Galaxy).
- Familiarity with key regulations and standards including NEC, NFPA 70, ADA, ICC, and ASCE.
- Strong background in conducting threat, vulnerability, and risk analyses.
- Solid understanding of construction methodologies, blueprint analysis, and security-related technical drawings.
- At least 8 years of experience in infrastructure projects within transportation, industrial, or commercial environments.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
