As a Software Packaging Engineer, you will support and enhance a globally distributed, state-of-the-art system that integrates seamlessly with Microsoft services. We are looking for highly motivated engineers with a passion for learning to support and enhance a globally distributed, state-of-the-art system that integrates seamlessly with Microsoft services. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in developing solutions for Microsoft Windows desktop environments and be ready to contribute to the design, deployment, and administration of large-scale, multi-domain enterprise Windows infrastructures. This role involves building and maintaining Windows desktops on both virtual and physical platforms, providing support across multiple worldwide, WAN-connected sites. Engineers will be involved throughout the entire IT project lifecycle—from refining requirements and developing design documentation to creating installation guides, deployment plans, and providing ongoing operations and maintenance support. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs and defines system architecture for Windows desktop solutions and client-based applications
- Supports the integration of the Windows desktop with a variety of enterprise services
- Evaluates desktop software and hardware technologies and determines the most efficient method to leverage the technology within the customer’s network environment.
- Administer, operate, manage and maintain components for Windows desktop deployments to include virtual and thick client environments.
- Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients
- Plans and directs upgrades of Windows desktop operating system version(s) and supporting infrastructure and related components.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience (or 9 years with no degree).
- MECM / MCM packages experience as well as vast knowledge in OSD (O/S Deployment), MDT (Microsoft deployment toolkit) and Intune.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop design engineering and implementation options.
- Experience with Microsoft deployment tools to include Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
- Experience with engineering and deploying client software installation packages for Microsoft Windows desktops (physical and virtual).
- Experience with Application Virtualization to include, Citrix XenApp, Citrix App Layering, Microsoft APPV, and MSIX App Attach.
- Experience with maintaining Windows desktop systems for mobile users on laptop hardware.
- Experience with anti-virus and malware product integration within a Windows desktop configuration and remediation.
- CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification.
Desired Experience:
- Experience with managing Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Management, DFS, DNS, DHCP, and VMware Dynamic Environment Manager.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365.
- Experience with Windows Server 2016 and 2019.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows automation scripting with PowerShell or other scripting languages.
- Experience with managing and updating work tasks using ServiceNow.
- Experience with maintaining system security compliance following DISA STIGs.
