About the Role

The Security Podium Officer is responsible for overseeing the operation of the Security Department on an assigned shift to maintain a safe and secure environment for our customers, team members and company assets.

Position Responsibilities

  • Ability to operate the Security Casino Podium Post, answer radio & telephone calls, dispatch personnel, monitor alarms, issue non-restricted keys and emergency temporary credentials, complete reports and logs, as well as other functions associated with this assignment.
  • Dispatching radio communications to security officers on the floor, providing instructions, and coordinating responses to incidents and answering incoming phone calls related to security.
  • Ability to perform specialized functions, such as Lost & Found and other assignments as required or ordered.
  • Ability to perform all the duties and responsibilities of a Security Officer.
  • Ensuring proper security is provided for all transfers of money, enforcing company rules and Casino Control Commission regulations and requirements are met and followed by all Security personnel.
  • Maintaining a visible and accessible presence to deter potential problems.
  • Providing excellent customer service to guests and fellow team members, answering questions, and assisting with incidents.
  • Maintain interaction with all departments, team members and customers to ensure a favorable line of communication.
  • Answer phones and radios in a professional, courteous manner and handle inquiries efficiently.
  • Assisting management with training security officers, maintaining records of incidents, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to prepare detailed report documentation of all incidents relating to the property, guests, and team members, take statements, and conduct interviews.
  • Enforcing casino rules and regulations, and reporting violations to management.
  • Have a working knowledge and enforcement of all laws, policies and procedures, governing the actions of customers and team members.
  • Implementing notification processes in emergency situations.
  • Comply with all New Jersey regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and stress related to servicing customers in a high pressure and fast paced environment.
  • Requires acute sense of smell and sound, ability to talk on and hear a two-way radio and telephone.
  • Visual Acuity correctable to 20/20, normal color, peripheral and night vision.
  • Tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality.
  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the Casino/Hotel areas.
  • Must be able to work under adverse conditions, including overtime, evenings, weekends, holidays and testify in court on and off duty.
  • Contact with team members and customers.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in casino security or law enforcement field.
  • Advanced customer service and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Proficient at investigating incidents and report writing.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete standard company forms and reports.
  • Must have a valid New Jersey driver’s license.
