Job Purpose:

We are seeking a seasoned Operations Enterprise Architect to drive the design, governance, and evolution of enterprise architecture within a mission-critical transportation environment. This role is pivotal in aligning operational technologies with strategic business goals. The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in rail or transportation systems, a solid command of architectural frameworks across applications, data, and infrastructure, and demonstrated leadership in implementing event-driven architectures.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with senior IT and business stakeholders to align technology architecture with operational strategy and organizational goals.
• Provide technical oversight and architectural leadership across critical operational systems.
• Design scalable, resilient, and standards-compliant architectures that support enterprise-wide initiatives.
• Champion modern architecture patterns, particularly event-driven architecture for real-time, decoupled system design.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and data teams to ensure cohesive, integrated solutions.
• Apply specialized knowledge of rail or transportation operations to guide architectural decisions.
• Lead and participate in architecture governance activities, including documentation, review boards, and compliance checks.
• Create and maintain future-state architecture models, capability roadmaps, and transition strategies for key operational platforms.
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies relevant to the operational environment.
• Support modernization of legacy systems and drive digital transformation initiatives across departments.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect in complex operational environments, preferably in the transportation or rail sector.
• Strong technical knowledge across application, data, and infrastructure architecture layers.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture principles and technologies.
• Ability to partner with executive leadership to influence technology roadmaps and strategic direction.
• Expertise in architecture governance, including framework development and standards enforcement.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale system integrations and platform modernization efforts.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, especially when working with cross-functional teams.
• Experience assessing emerging technologies for fit and feasibility in enterprise environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
